A Proclamation From Governor Matt Blunt
WHEREAS, quality health care is an important concern of Missouri citizens and affordable and accessible medical care is essential for the well-being of citizens; and
WHEREAS, free clinics throughout Missouri have served as advocates and providers of preventive health care, dentistry, medicine and social services to improve patient access to health care services; and
WHEREAS, free health clinics in Missouri , recognized as the Missouri Association of Free Clinics, serve a number of Missouri citizens, providing free services, specialty care and prescriptions; and
WHEREAS, free health clinics are recognized as important members of the health care delivery team, working closely with medical, dental, public health and hospital systems to enhance the quality of medical care in Missouri;
NOW THEREFORE, I, Matt, Blunt, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, do hereby proclaim April 23-29, 2008 as
MISSOURI ASSOCIATION OF FREE CLINICS WEEK
